What I Think About The Rangers

Well I want to talk a little about the Rangers today. They are my favorite team in baseball. Well then the Rangers have been a pretty good team this year they have had some up and downs but they are above .500 right now. They are in the wild card and hopely they can keep there. They have been beating some pretty decent teams lately such as the Orioles even though the Orioles have been on a losing streak it was a nice series to win. They should have won the Blue Jay series but blew game one when they were winning late in the game. The Rangers need someone to depend on though I think to go far they have Mitch Moreland but he still not what they need to depend on. I think they need just a really good homerun hitter to I say win the playoffs. Talking about the playoffs I think they will make it but I say if they have to play the Yankees they will lose. The Rangers just don’t match up very well against them. The Rangers have always have been a decent team in the history of baseball. The Rangers have made it to the World Series they just can’t seem to win it. They got to the World Series two years in a row but just can never pull it out. They have pretty good fielding also. In left field they have Venables which has played good. They have in center field DeShields which I talked about him in my top rookies if you haven’t read it you should check it out. In  In right they have Choo which is my favorite player on the team. He has been good this year he has gotten a cycle which is pretty rare to get. Third base they have the old but still mighty Adrian Beltre, he has been good also this year he has got a cycle as well and has hit for his 400 home run this year. Shortstop they have the loyal Elvis Andrus why I say he is loyal is because he has been there the longest out of the rest of the team. He is a pretty good shortstop he can make so pretty good plays at short. At second they have Odor which is hurt right now but should be back soon from his finger nail cracking. You wouldn’t think a fingernail would make a big difference when playing but it effects you when you throwing. At first base they have Mitch Moreland which doesn’t always plays there but he plays there most of the time. He has been solid this year with 18 home runs. Mitch has been there leader this year and they need one really bad. Now it time to talk about the catchers. Well this year there has been a lot of people playing catcher. Chirinos has been the one to play it the most but he has been hurt lately. Chirinos has has a pretty good year he has 9 home runs and 33 RBI. It always seems that a lot of Rangers players get hurt and that’s why they can’t make it to the playoffs these past years.

Now its time to talk about there pitching. Fans have been really excited to get Cole Hamels and I was pretty happy also when the Rangers got him. He is a pretty good pitcher and is a leader of the pitching rotation which is what they needed. Hamels has pitched pretty good this year I’m just excited to see what he can do for the Rangers in the upcoming years. They finally got Derek Holland back just two weeks ago. He has been phenomenal out on the mound. The other night he got a shutout and pitched a career high of 11 strike outs. I can’t wait to see Darvish next year come back healthy and pitch with the rest of these guys. They also have some other good pitching such as Perez and Lewis. They have a good pitching rotation I hope they stay healthy and do well the rest of the season. The Rangers have a big road trip coming up and they need to win at least half the games to stay up on top. They play the Padres which should be easy but it’s on the road. They also play the Angels on the road which will be a hard match even though the Angels aren’t doing the best. They also play the Mariners which they struggled with for some reason all year. Hopely they win most of these games. I think thats all I want to talk about so I’m going to close it at that. Make sure to check out some of my other post.

My Top Five Rookies

This year has been a talented year for rookies and I to show what I would rank them.

1. Carlos Correa- Many of you probably think I’m crazy putting Correa first in my rookie list but he has been astonishing this year. He has 15 home runs and 43 RBI thats amazing for a shortstop rookie. I think he is going to be the next Derek Jeter of baseball. He is really young too and I think he will even be better next year than this year. I know it’s still early to tell if they’re going to be a hall of famer this early in their career but if he keeps the way he is going he’s going to be in the Hall of Fame. Correa is also really fast he already has 11 stolen bases which I know is not a lot but is still really good. He is also a very good playmaker he can make some tremendous plays out on the field that  I haven’t seen many shortstops do in a long time. He has great ability to become one of the best shortstops ever. But he has to stay healthy and play the way he has been playing.

2. Kris Bryant- He is the face of the Cubs right now. He has been pretty good this year. I’m starting to compare him to Mike Trout because how good he is. He has 21 home runs and 77 RBI! That incredible for a rookie. The last time somebody has done this well is when Mike trout had his rookie year which was basically in 2012. He also has 12 stolen bases and but has a decent average of .262. He can hit really good but just strikes out too much like Joey Gallo. He is a pretty good fielder but his strong suit is batting. If he keeps up the way he is playing I say he leads them far into the playoffs.

3. Delino DeShields- He has been great this year. Many people wouldn’t think of him being really good, but he is. The reason the Rangers are in the playoff race is because of him. He has 22 stolen bases and is by far one of the fastest rookies. You should see him run the bases it’s incredible how fast he runs them. He is not as much as a power hitter but he still can hit the ball pretty good his average is a good, .262 which is just as good as Kris Bryant. He is also a very good playmaker he has a pretty good arm and is fast to make really good plays. Rangers are now in a position because of how good DeShields has been playing in a spot where they could go far into the playoffs. Talking about how fast he, is he had almost  as many stolen bases as Billy Hamilton when in the minors. Hamilton that year had 155 stolen bases. Delino only had a couple dozen less which is still a lot of stolen bases.

4. Kyle Schwarber- Talk about a team with a lot of good rookies. The Cubs have had a pretty good year so far they surprised many people about how well they’ve played. Schwarber has been a good left fielder/catcher this year for the Cubs. He has a better batting average than Kris Bryant which is impressive for a catcher. He can hit the ball pretty hard to he has 12 home runs and 35 RBI. I think he will be one the better hitters in the league in the future. I say he has a pretty bright future ahead of him with the Cubs.

5. Joc Pederson- Many of you probably know him from how many home runs he has hit. He has been pretty good this year but he has been terrible since the All Star break. He has a very low average of .213 which is pretty bad but I remember when he was playing well this year and that’s why I put him fifth. He is a pretty good outfielder for them right now. But he needs to pick up the pace before he could get sent back down to the minors. He is a big power hitter and that’s why I put him fifth. He has also 47 RBI which is also pretty good. I hope he gets to playing better or he would just be a bust. I want to wish him good luck to improve the rest of the season.

There are also other very good rookies I didn’t bring up but these were the so far this year.

Willie Howard Mays was born on May 6 1931 In Westfield Alabama. People nicknamed him ‘’ The Say Hey Kid’’ He later went on in his life to play Major League Baseball with the New York Giants. He batted right and threw right. He went on to break many records in his career. He also won first in the league in different categories. He entered the league in 1951. Many people were amazed how talented he was. Many people hated him because of his color. Willie was one of the baseball best players by the middle of his career. He is known for his four home runs he hit in a game. Still to this day nobody has broke the record. Mays won MVP several times. By the end of his career he broke various records. He broke most RBI, Triples, Doubles, and Runs in a career he was inducted to the hall of fame in 1979. He is still alive today and is 83 years old.

My Top Five Second Basemen

1.Dee Gordon- I know many of people don’t know who Dee Gordon is and if they do they don’t think he’s the best second baseman. But his stats show that he is the best. He already has 41 stolen base and there are still 40 games left he is by far the fastest runner in baseball right now. He also has 8 triples already which are really hard to get. He has a .332 average which is the best in the league which is another reason why I put him first. Many of you probably haven’t heard of him because he plays for the Miami Marlins. The Marlins have been terrible this year. But some of you might remember him from the Dodgers he was great for the Dodgers but Dodgers traded him for Andrew Heaney who they later turned around and trade for Howie Kendrick from the Angels. I think this was a bad trade for the Dodgers because he is now one of the fastest person in Major League Baseball. I think he will get traded again though next year. I think he will always be a good second baseman but will not play for very good teams for the rest of his career.

2. Jose Altuve- He is also a great second baseman but does not have as good of a average as Gordon so thats why I put him second place. He is a pretty good second baseman he has great defense and can make really good plays. He is a master at starting a double play. He is also very fast like Gordon but does not still as many bases. He already has 32 stolen bases this year. He is pretty short but his great jumping ability makes up for it. Most people probably haven’t heard of him till this year because finally the Astro a doing great. They are leading their division but they better watch out the Rangers are catching right up with them. He is also a pretty good hitter he hits for a pretty good average of .309 which is still pretty good. He is also very young and still has a lot of his career left. He could be a hall of fame second baseman if he keeps playing well and stays healthy.

3. Jason Kipnis- Why does it seem like all the not very good teams have good second baseman? I ask this question a lot to myself. Well I think its because good teams look for more like a good outfielder or first baseman or third baseman I think most teams don’t look at have a really good second baseman. Why put Jason Kipnis third? It because of his good batting average he has a batting average of .324 which is also really good. He is a second baseman you might hear of more than most. Its because he plays on a decent  team and is very good. He doesn’t have the speed though of most second baseman. But his good play make helps him do well. He is a good second baseman but I say he is not the best.

4. Joe Panik- I really don’t know him very well I haven’t really seen him play out on the field. But he is one of the best second baseman. He has a great average of .309 but he does not steal many bases. He plays for a pretty good team I guess I just haven’t heard much about him so thats all im going to say about Joe Panik                                    
5. Rougned Odor- [Caution Rangers Fan] Why I picked him is one I’m a Rangers fan and two he is a pretty good second baseman. He started of this year pretty bad. The Rangers sent him down earlier this year then brought him back up. Ever since he has been awesome. He has hit 11 home runs since he came back up and he has a batting average of .280 which is way better then before he went down in the minors. It seems like something click when he was playing for Round Rock Express. He is a really good hitter and is a pretty good fielder. I think that Rangers get into the wild card this year and Odor plays awesome.

My Top Five First Basemen

I know some of you have read my top five outfielders now I’m going to list my top five first baseman.

1. Paul Goldschmidt- He plays for not a very good team so not many people think of him as one of the best but this year he is leading the league in runs batted in he has already got 93 and is on his way for more. He has also been leading the league lately in Average. He is on track to being a hall of fame first baseman. But I say he has to get on a better team before he gets there.

2. Miguel Cabrera- He is known for the triple crown he has gotten in his career. Getting a triple crown is very hard and takes a great year to have one. Why I would put him second is because of his great OPS which stands for [On-base plus slugging] percentage. His OPS is 1.072 which is great. He is right now leading the league in four different categories. He is a very humble of the field as well. He is also a great first baseman that can make good plays. But he is older then a lot of first baseman but is still playing very well for his age.

3. Albert Pujols- Has been great this year he had some slow years lately but know is picking it up and play the way he was when he was younger. Even though he is 35 he is still rocking it out on the field. He has 33 home runs so far and there are still about 40 games left. I say he gets to 40 home runs this year and he had been playing in the league for 15 years he has had more home runs this year then a lot of the other seasons when he was younger! Its crazy he still playing this well. He also has 71 RBI which is great as well. I know the Angels aren’t playing as well lately but I say Pujols get on a hot streak and leads them to the division title.

4. Adrian Gonzalez- Been pretty good this year but he has not hit as well. But he has been great out on the field making good plays here and there. Why would I put him fourth is because his defense. I enjoyed getting to seeing him play in person when I went to the Rangers and Dodger game back in June.

5. Anthony Rizzo- He has been awesome this year he has lead his team to be pretty good. It helped though that got Kris Bryant. He has 25 home runs and 77 RBI which is pretty good he gets overlooked a little though because of the past history of the Cubs not being very good. I say this year the Cubs get into the wild card because of Rizzo

My Top Five Outfielders

Here are my top five outfielders by what I would rank them.

1.Mike Trout– He is by far my favorite player in baseball right now. One he is very humble and cares about his fans. He also has great speed and has very good jumping ability. He is probably the best defender in baseball right now. He also hits for good average and hits a lot of home runs. He is also running for MVP for the second year. He been very good this year but has struggled ever since it hurt his wrist. But he has picked the pace up here lately and has been awesome out on  the field. I say he gets MVP this year.

2.Bryce Harper-  He has had his best year by far this year. But there are some things he is not as good at as Mike Trout is. He is a really good hitter but he can not bring as much defense but he is still a really good fielder. I don’t like Bryce Harper as much though he still has anger issues he has been ejected several times this year for arguing with the umpire. Once he gets past that though I say he will be MVP.

3.Andrew Mccutchen- He is a very good defender but gets over looked a lot because he is in a small market team. Many people don’t rank in the top five but there are many things he does better than a lot of players. He is a very good fielder and teammate. He bats pretty well but his strength is defense. He is probably the best defender out of all the players I listed. 4.Adam Jones- He gets way over looked out of them all. He has been playing in the league though for a long time. He has been a good hit for average batter he has averaged though about 30 home runs every year. He is a pretty good defender too he plays for a pretty good team but still gets over looked a lot. He also does good clutch situations.

5.Giancarlo Stanton- He is the biggest power hitter of them all he knocks home runs far and deeper than anyone. He one of the best power hitters but is injury prone which why I ranked him fifth. He does get overlooked but his power makes up for it. He is for the most part a pretty good fielder as well but is known for his power

Why Do Baseball Pitchers Get Hurt More Often Then Batters

Many people have ask this question before “Why do pitchers get hurt so much when they don’t even pitch but every five days” Well there are many things that can go wrong with pitching. Many injuries are torn muscles such as a surgery called Tommy John surgery the name Tommy John came from a very famous and good baseball pitcher. This is a surgery where there is a torn ligament and they have to go in and fix it. Many baseball pitchers in baseball now days had to get this surgery such as Matt Harvey, Yu Darvish and many other pitchers. Many people ask how do you tear a muscle of yours. Well there are a lot of things that can cause this such as pitching too much or also just moving you muscle wrong and just end up tearing it. After you had this surgery it take about 16 weeks to recover and come back. This makes pitcher’s career shorting then batters because they’re more able to get a injury. Plus when you are pitcher 80 to 90 miles per hour you arm is going to get tired over time and this leads to lots of injuries. Let me just say you more likely to get a injury when you are a pitcher.
